
Traditional Dutch dining at Restaurant Eetlust

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
As part of a practice exam for my studies, I was assigned to develop a logo and visual identity for a fictional restaurant called Eetlust in the heart of the city of Groningen. The goal of the new visual identity was to appeal to both families with children and students. The client preferred a vintage look, but it should not feel old-fashioned. The challenge during the development process was therefore to find the right balance between vintage and modern style.

DESIGN PROCESS
The Eetlust logo is an invitation to take a seat at the table. The visual identity is designed to immediately convey a sense of warmth, coziness and friendliness through rounded shapes, warm colors and a unique photography style. Together with the vintage yet modern wordmark, this gives the overall design an elegant, artisanal appearance. Why not pull up a chair?
